Obernet was compromised by spammers last night, and is down for a while, while I work with the hosts on where this problem could have occurred. They suspect a non-secure password on one of the email addresses.

At the very least, it will result in email password changes. If we can track down which email address has been compromised, it'll have to be deleted.

Moonfair 2007: Brisbane celebrates ;)

So how did your city celebrate Moonfair 2007 starting?

Brisbane put on a fantastic show to honour the start of Obernet's festive season!

Don't listen to the news readers, telling you it was a thing called "Riverfire". I spent most of last night walking around Southbank saying to anyone who would listen (and plenty that wouldn't), "Happy Moonfair!"
(And, since I signed up for a youtube account tonight, here's a vid I took of the finale including the dump+burn!)

My lil brother's just bought a '99 R34 Skyline. We went out car hunting this morning, and he bought it. He's so excited - it's just fantastic. He's always wanted an R34 - the fact that he's bought this means that he's finally ready to have another car that he cares about, since the VL was stolen and burnt.

It's a lovely car too. The acceleration is very smooth, it's effortless to get up to 100kph.

We managed to talk $2500 off the price as well. He picks it up Tuesday.

Very good start to the weekend :)

I noticed the lovely piccies of snow from Flit's journal, so thought I'd do my own snow post too :-D

Everyone knows Stanthorpe is the coldest place in Queensland (and if you didn't...you do now!). The reason for this coldness is that it's at a high altitude and slightly inland...so it also has some of the hottest summer temps, too  (though nothing like up north).

About once every 10 years, there is snow there. It very rarely settles. Last year, the weather went bonkers, missed the snow season completely and snowed in November.

Last weekend was so freezing here in Bris, I message'd Nathan-in-Stanthorpe, about the possibility of snow - he replied back "I bloody well hope not. I'm in Brisbane this weekend (he's Ryan's godfather, so up visiting Hallie and co). It was sleeting when I left"

Yesterday he sent me some photos from over the weekend - and we all missed it! *sigh*

I realise they're not as beautiful as what's going on in the rest of Australia down south...but...SNOW. In QLD. And it SETTLED. It hasn't done that since the big snow in '86, and I missed that one too.

Doesn't it look all wintry and cold?? :-D

I'm heading up to Stanthorpe this weekend to climb the pyramids again. Maybe we'll have a repeat :-D !!
